Kevin Macpherson Biography
Kevin MacPherson Artist's Statement: Kevin Macpherson merges impressionism and realism in painting, expressing the poetic beauty of life and nature.
Born in 1956, Macpherson received his BFA from Northern Arizona University and began his professional career as an illustrator. Now recognized as one of the most accomplished American painters, his workshops are among the most sought after in the country. His book, Fill Your Oil Paintings With Light and Color, is in its sixth printing and was recently translated into Chinese. (He will be teaching in China in 2004.) He has also authored numerous articles and books as a contributing author on painting.
Over his illustrious career, Macpherson has garnered countless Best of Shows including Best of Show in Salon International 2002 and the “Founders Award” for the Oil Painters of America Show. His paintings have graced the covers of Southwest Art, American Artist, International Artist, U.S. Art, Wildlife Art, and The Artist’s Magazine. Highly respected by his peers, Kevin was the juror for the National Oil Painters of America Exhibition 2003.
